100,000 Snapchat photos stolen and spread on the web!

At the moment, piracy on the Internet seems to be very numerous. After the Celebgate that we have touched on several times for a few weeks, Dropbox has announced that identifiers are currently circulating on the net and it is now Snapchat’s turn to announce the loss of photos!

How does Snapchat work?

I think that all of us are very numerous to use the Snapchat service to send images to friends in a more or less intensive way. Most of the time it’s to send bullshit of course because the photos disappear only seconds after they are received. As a result, Snapchat only keeps photos for a few minutes in order to properly route images to recipients. They are then deleted from the servers.

It’s not Snapchat’s fault!

In order to avoid you immediately taking your smartphone to delete Snapchat, be aware that the application is not directly involved. In fact, Snapchat is not the victim of any hack. Not bad other applications exist and they are able to save photos sent to the Snapchat service. It is these applications that are unfortunately the source of this loss of private photos. In fact, Snapchat’s terms and conditions clearly prohibit their use. If you don’t use these applications, your contacts may have them installed!

Snapchatters were victimized by their use of third-party apps to send and receive Snaps, a practice that we expressly prohibit in our ToU.

The photos are circulating on the Internet!

The bad news is thatabout 100,000 photos have been recovered by malicious people who just want to hurt people and feed unscrupulous sites whose source of images does not matter, adult sites in particular. Because of course, the photos recovered are not all harmless, buttocks, breasts and even more intimate! But the problem also lies in the fact that Snapchat is used by a lot of minors. The photos were published on 4Chan, which cleaned up as soon as possible, but of course, smart guys continue to circulate intimate photos.

If Snapchat does not seem to be directly involved, we can only advise you to immediately stop using unofficial applications for yourself or your contacts. In any case, be careful what you do on the Internet, at present, you are the only master of your private life!
